Cedar Mountain Commons, a department of Hartford Hospital, is a not for profit independent and assisted living community located at 3 John H. Stewart Drive.

At GoodLife Fitness, Quyntin Adams works one-on-one with each person to improve muscular strength, balance, cardiovascular health and self-esteem. A key point of the program is reducing the risk of falls and injuries while increasing mobility. Adams works individually with Cedar Mountain Commons residents and the public.

Adams holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and previously worked as an exercise physiologist with cardiac rehabilitation patients in a hospital setting. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine.

Individuals who may benefit from GoodLife Fitness may include those seeking: relief from back pain or arthritis; exercise-based pain management; or pre- or post-surgical rehabilitation. Before starting a program, the participant’s personal care physician is consulted.

“As people grow older, their physical activity often declines. Even individuals with mobility difficulties or other health issues can find that exercise not only has physical benefits such as building muscle, balance and coordination, it has cognitive benefits for those with early to onset dementia,” Adams said. “Participants also really enjoy the social aspect while exercising at GoodLife Fitness.”
