Mulberry Gardens couple celebrates 70 years of marriage
SOUTHINGTON – Mulberry Gardens of Southington recently recognized a couple who celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Dec. 26. Arthur and Trudy Main moved to Mulberry Gardens, located at 58 Mulberry St. in the Plantsville section of Southington, in February 2016. Family and friends joined in the festivities.
The couple married on Dec. 26, 1946 in St. George, Utah. Together they share six children, 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren with more on the way. Their favorite pastime includes traveling around the world with Australia and Hawaii as their top recommendations.“Art and Trudy are known is be inseparable at Mulberry Gardens, holding hands every chance they get,” said Donna Johnson, activities director. When asked about the key to their successful marriage they agreed: “loving each other and getting along at all times,” according to Johnson.
