As a nonprofit and as part of our mission, our priority is to support and nurture everyone connected to Southington Care Center by investing in the facilities, technologies and programs that enhance life here.
But we cannot do it alone.
Each gift to Southington Care Center comes from someone special: a grateful resident, family member, employee, volunteer or friend, who sees the great things happening here and generously shares what he or she can. We are proud of the care we provide, and are delighted to accept tax-deductible donations that help us enrich the lives of all members of the Southington Care Center family.
Light the World
This event is designed to bring together those who wish to remember loved ones who may have passed and pray for those who currently have a need. We come together in peace and hope to celebrate those whom we love, as we light the thousands of lights that will engulf Southington Care Center. There will be special music and a presentation to someone who lights the world with their care and compassion.
Mark your calendars for Monday, December 3, 2018 at 6:30pm and plan to be there!
You can be a part of this wonderful event! We will be providing luminaries with the name of your loved one printed on them. They will line our driveway and sidewalks that evening and all are invited to participate. There is a suggested donation for the luminaries with proceeds going to the Pastoral Care Program at Southington Care. This will help provide ongoing spiritual care and needed materials for our residents. However no one will be refused for lack of funds.

Help us Be The Light 2018
The Donna and Steve McCarty Fund
The McCarty family, along with the leadership of Southington Care Center has decided that our two very successful golf tournaments were a wonderful way to remember Steve and the proceeds a perfect way to honor his legacy. And so our 2017 tournament was our final event.
On behalf of everyone associated with our golf tournaments and my family, I personally wish to thank each of you for the support and generosity that you shared without hesitation. Thank you for being a part of some special days that will always be wonderful memories for all of us.
Thanks so very much,
Donna McCarty
The Donna and Steve McCarty Fund at Southington Care Center remains as our commitment to the quality care that is provided to the residents of this community.

Tribute Gifts
Tribute gifts are a thoughtful way to celebrate a person or an occasion and also support the mission of our organization. Many individuals have chosen to make a memorial gift to Southington Care Center as an expression of sympathy and to pay tribute to a loved one or friend who has died. Honor gifts acknowledge individuals who have shown a kindness or impacted your life.
You can also use tribute gifts to commemorate a special occasion, like a relative's birthday or Mother's Day. After we receive a gift, we will send a letter to you acknowledging the gift, as well as to any people that you indicate should receive an acknowledgment card. (The amount of the gift is kept confidential, and the tax deduction is yours.)
Planned Giving
Q: Did you know that you can show your support for Southington Care Center by making a gift that will cost nothing during your lifetime?
A: You can – through a planned gift like a bequest or a gift of life insurance. A planned (or deferred) gift is a type of charitable gift that generally requires some planning, most often with the assistance of a financial advisor or an attorney. These gifts include:
- Gifts Through Your Will
- Life Insurance
- Retirement Assets
- Appreciated Securities
- Charitable Gift Annuities
With many planned gift options, you can enjoy significant tax benefits while helping future generations of seniors and their families. Please call Julie Norko, Director of Development, at 860.378.1284 to discuss a planned gift.
